WJO has proudly worked on most of the major stadiums in Detroit, including Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena where we were the primary mechanical contractors for HVAC and plumbing. We were able to provide the setting of the equipment while simultaneously utilizing our fabrication shop to begin production with the ability to utilize Just In Time (JIT) delivery.

Working with one of the largest airports in the U.S., W.J. O’Neil was the prime contractor for the complete mechanical systems for the FAA air traffic control tower at Detroit Metro Airport. We were responsible for all the plumbing, HVAC and temperature control work in the three-story building. All the plumbing was fabricated in our Livonia fab shop and delivered to the job site. WJO service department continues to do the service and maintenance on the air control tower as well as other buildings at the airport.

The energy sector is known for the tremendous amount of piping it uses. W.J. O’Neil has the capability to fabricate in our fab shop in Chattanooga. This state-of-the-art facility gives us tremendous flexibility. By fabricating in house, costs and schedules are controlled, and safety and quality are maximized, with the ability to utilize Just In Time (JIT) delivery.

Being located in Motor City, the heart of the automotive industry, WJO has had the opportunity to work with the largest U.S. auto manufacturers. Services included piping systems that deliver gas, air, chilled water, hot water, and steam throughout the plant, and installation of piped chillers, boilers, and air compressors.

The piping – which includes stainless, high-pressure gas, and heavy industrial process piping – is fabricated in our fab shop in Chattanooga. This state-of-the-art facility gives us tremendous flexibility. By fabricating in house, costs and schedules are controlled, and safety and quality are maximized.

When it comes to hospitality, HVAC and automation is critical to maintain a great environment. W.J. O’Neil was chosen as the mechanical contractor for the expansion of the 400-room, 33-suite Motor City Casino. We were responsible for all the plumbing, HVAC and temperature control work in the 17-story building. To work on the project, our workers had to pass strict jobsite security and extensive background checks to meet federal gaming regulations. All the fabricating for the project, including the toilet battery assemblies, were fabricated in our fab shop in Livonia. Everything was delivered on time to the job site.

W.J. O’Neil completed one of the largest process piping jobs in recent Michigan history. The project required 170,000 linear feet of stainless steel and carbon steel piping. Other areas worked: SGO area including hot oils and peroxide building, emulsions production and resin cutting (EP & RC), product tank farm including truck unloading and drum filling, monomer tank farm including rail and truck unloading, utility building and outside area.

W.J. O’Neil works with hospitals to ensure the strict hospitality measures for both patients and staff are being upheld. Services include plumbing, sheet metal, temperature control, HVAC, high-pressure steam work and equipment installations. Our previous projects included running pipe to all the Operating Rooms for medical gases including oxygen, nitrogen, and waste anesthesia.

The downtown Detroit landmark building, One Detroit Center, needed an update of its energy systems to make them more efficient, and our client, Portfolio Property Management Global (PPMG), awarded the work to W.J. O’Neil. The WJO Controls Team began by installing a state-of-the-art web-based energy management system. Every piece of equipment in the HVAC system is controlled by a web-based system that allows remote monitoring so changes can be made quickly and easily.
